Physician Assistant
We train you as an assistant to the ENT doctor or general practitioner in the removal of earwax with microsuction. The ENT way.
No more spraying out the old-fashioned way, but state-of-the-art work with the head-mounted microscope and microsuction pump.
Earwax removal with microsuction and direct binocular vision is less risky, is applicable in more situations, is less hassle, works faster and is much more pleasant for you and your patient.
Trained by our affiliated ENT physicians, you will proceed safely and confidently, supporting your busy family doctor or ENT physician.
By the way, our training course “Dry Ear Canal Cleaning for the Physician Assistant” is accredited by KABIZ-DA and the NVDA with 41.5 points.
Getting started with ear sucking
To enable suctioning, the ENT doctor in the outpatient clinic usually has at his disposal the large fixed surgical microscope and a microsuction or vacuum pump integrated into a special unit.
The problem with this large microscope is that it has a focal point. With small movements of you or your patient, you have to refocus and that takes experience and hassle. Moreover, you need your hands for this when you would rather have them free to work with.
This creates quite a barrier to getting started with earwax removal as an ENT physician assistant.
Fortunately, there is now a solution to that: the Vorotek O Scope head-mounted microscope.
The Vorotek O Scope has a sharpness area of as much as 10cm.
This makes it very easy to get and keep a sharp image on what you’re doing: you put it on, adjust to your pupil distance and you’re good to go.
Working with this head-worn microscope is therefore particularly approachable and intuitive, giving you confidence to begin earwax removal.
Quality, ease of use and mobility at minimal investment
The head-borne microscope gives ease of use and mobility without sacrificing quality of action.
No longer does earwax removal have to occupy the doctor’s limited and expensively paid capacity. You are mobile and can work in any convenient and available space.
Moreover, you are now mobile. So you can also start performing minor operations in ear, nose and throat at other places in the hospital than just the poliKNO.
This adds quality and capability at an investment in the Vorotek O Scope that is only a fraction of the fixed operation microscope.
Surely this is a win-win for everyone: you enrich your job with it and help reduce the capacity problem in healthcare.
Earwax extraction increases quality of service in general practice
Due to unique technological innovation, it is now possible for the general practitioner to switch to the ENT way of working and earwax suctioning for a small investment.
The key is the Vorotek O Scope recently introduced in Europe. This head-borne microscope allows both eyes to view the entire ear canal in 3D with slight magnification.
So you can use this to see if and how much earwax is in an ear. And you can see what you’re doing. And you can see if your treatment has been effective.
So:
- No more sending customers home unhappy
- No more unnecessary return appointments because the ear is still closed.
- No more unnecessary referral appointments to the ENT doctor
And:
- Happy customers because they find this a very pleasant treatment
- Early recognition of disease by proper assessment of the ear canal and eardrum after cleaning
And that makes you happy, too.
Learn how to safely and securely remove earwax with microsuction
In addition to equipment, we also provide training given by ENT doctors, possibly on site if there is a sufficient group size.
This has big advantages for the physician assistant: We are experts in earwax removal with microsution and have developed a standard approach that works.
In fact, earwax removal is not part of the training of an ENT doctor, and each doctor therefore maintains his or her own way of doing things.
Moreover, in our experience, a patient does accept some pain from a doctor. With an assistant, this is different and more caution is required.
We find that physician assistants really appreciate learning a standard way of working and taking the time to build trust.
Therefore, come and train with us.
