Dry Earwax Removal Training: E-Learning Module

This E-Learning Module from our partner Clear Ears Learning is the first step of the comprehensive Dry Earwax Removal Training we offer. This comprehensive training can be found here and consists of the following components:

1. Dry Earwax Removal Training – Theory (Online)
2. Dry Earwax Removal Training – Hands-on Training Practical Use of Equipment (1 day from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
3. Dry Earwax Removal Training – 20x Earwax Removal in Practice with ENT Supervision

We offer the extended training in the Netherlands and are preparing to roll it out in Belgium and Germany.

In the meantime, this E-Learning Module is available for those countries where we do not yet offer the comprehensive training but do sell the equipment for earwax removal with microsuction such as the Vorotek O Scope and the Microsuction Vacuum Pump. The module is a very comprehensive basic training and includes the following components:

• Introduction to auditory care
• Anatomy & physiology of the ear
• Pathophysiology of the ear
• Customer care, education and consent
• Ear examination
• Audiology assessments
• Auditory care and cerumen management techniques
• Microsuction and curettage
• Auditory care and disease management
• Postoperative care
• Information and referral

The Clear Ears Learning Hub allows you to go through the 11 chapters with underlying theory in a linear manner subject based and then finish with the 8 case studies and get your certificate.

The course offers interactive training activities that allow you, the student, to practice techniques as you walk step-by-step through each procedure in your own environment. This allows you, the student, to stop, practice and repeat as often as necessary to perfect each technique.

The learning module is suitable for people of different levels of education – from general practitioner & general practice assistant and nurse to audiologist and audiologist. Depending on your previous education and experience, the training load is between 6 (triage audiologist with a lot of experience) and 40 hours (GP assistant and audiologist assistant).

You can get in and out whenever you want and have time and pick up where you left off.

In the end, it’s all about passing with a 90% score for the 8 case studies and for that you must have a good command of the theory. So depending on your mode of learning and experience, you may also choose to go straight through to the case studies and then go back to the underlying theory where it appears necessary in your case.

Once you pay, you will receive a voucher with instructions that will allow you to access the online training environment and get started right away. You keep 6 weeks of access to the Clear Ears Learning Hub. This is to make sure you commit yourself and go through the workout with some speed.

This training has been used successfully by General Practitioners, Audiologists and Hearing Care Professionals in Australia for many years and is accredited by Audiology Australia.

The training was developed by universities in England and Australia with special emphasis on retaining what you learn, being able to go through the course material in different ways, and successfully translating theory into practice.
